Everyone was smiling as the McDonald’s Happiness Tour made a stop in Reading, Mass. for a ProCamps football session last month, presented by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England. Kids big and small gathered on the Reading High School football field for the opportunity to play some football with New England Patriots wide receiver and Super Bowl champ Julian Edelman!
The day-long football clinic brought together boys and girls in grades one through eight to teach them all different types of football drills including passing, receiving, and defending. They also learned the value of leadership and teamwork skills on and off the field. Throughout the day, Julian offered tips and instructions to each group of participants.
As for the day’s other star attendee? Ronald McDonald was at the event handing out smiles, and taking pictures with the participants’ families! He helped Julian congratulate winners for categories like fastest camper and best sportsmanship.
After the campers worked up an appetite, McDonald’s donated 500 hamburgers and apple slices for them to chow down on.
Each camper received an autograph from Julian, a limited edition Citi Julian Edelman Football Clinic t-shirt, and a camp team photo with Julian.
